Khesh - Sustainability Reckons!!!
Are you green? Are you sustainable?
We are sustainable....we started our project Khesh- Go Green!!
Khesh originating from the Birbhum district of West Bengal is a great collection to show-off. Long before the global giants started patronizing the "GO-GREEN" labels on their shirts, the small artisans of the Birbhum district had started the initiative to go green but in a innovative way which will not only showcase their creativity but will also help them stand tall among other artisans.
Unfortunately, they had not found their position in the sustainable world of ours...they had not been recognized. So here we present the creativity of the artisans of Birbhum district of West Bengal named "Khesh".
First a old saree is picked, washed, cleaned. Then the saree or the cloth is separated thread by thread and then kept along with the other yarn kept for to weave a new saree. As the new saree is being weaved the old pieces are picked up randomly and it makes a beautiful design. Its given a symmetry. Then the sarees are given touch of either fabric paints or applique to make it more appealing.
We are sure that you wont be late in helping to the noble cause of being sustainable.
